Estimates follow VCAA's own formula: each assessment is standardised against its state mean and
SD (this year's, predicted from the official 2021–2025 VCAA grade distributions, because exam
difficulty changes every year), weighted by the study design,
added, ranked against a simulated state and mapped onto mean 30, SD 7. The two sliders above are only
used for assessments with no published distribution. Assessments you haven't entered are projected
from the ones you have (correlations: SAC↔SAC and exam↔exam 0.85, SAC↔exam 0.75). Raw SAC marks are
regressed slightly toward the middle, because VCAA moderation keeps your class rank but re-sets the marks against your school's
exam results; choosing a school shifts them by its strength (0.7 × (school median − 29.6) ÷ 7 SDs,
